If you know me, you know that movies are one of my absolute favorite things. I think one of my dream jobs would be something in the realm of reviewing movies. These are a few of my favs. Please please watch them, they will change your life for the better ;)
ROMANCE
Pride and Prejudice
2005 Version
Oh my goodness where to begin, obviously it is a classic but the 2005 version is just so so good. Keira Knightley is amazing and the soundtrack is to die for. All of life's burdens disappear while watching this.
About Time
Get ready to cry your heart out. This movie is so beautifully shot and the chemistry is insane. My first time watching it I was confused by the fact that there's time travel involved, but trust me it is such a good movie. The message this movie gives is one that we all need to hear.
Midnight in Paris
I know I know again with the time travel but seriously this movie was probably the first one that I truly loved. The soundtrack and casting are impeccable, and it's set in the streets of Paris, what more could you ask for?!
COMEDY
Moulin Rouge
Okay, this is more of a romcom I would say, but I'm just going to class it under comedy for now. Baz Luhrmann's directing style is one of my favourite things ever. Everything is so crazy and there's always a lot happening at once and it is just entertainment at its finest.
National Lampoon's Vacation
Where do I start? This whole series of movies is absolutely hilarious. I grew up watching these, which in hindsight was probably not my parent's brightest idea as they are a bit crass at times. However, if you want to laugh at some of the stupidest things, these are the movies for you.
Johnny English
A bit of action and a whole lot of comedy. The wonderful Rowan Atkinson does it again. He is just funny in everything that he does and this is no different. So funny and the little bits of action in it make this movie what it is.
MY TOP 3
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I can't quite put into words what this movie means to me but just trust me, you HAVE to watch it. The sense of adventure and need to explore after watching this movie are so so high. Be prepared to plan your next trip after watching this because that is all you will want to do. My all time favourite movie.
Chasing Ice
The best documentary I think I've seen. This follows a photographer trying to capture climate change through pictures and spread awareness about what is going on to our planet. The photographer, James Balog, is a wonderful photographer and his photos are amazing at telling the stories that he wants them to. Highly highly recommend.
Mamma Mia
I mean we have to have a bit of a musical thrown in there don't we. This movie is one of my favourites from my childhood and I still love it to this day. It makes me feel so happy and summery every time that I watch it. If you haven't already seen it I would like to know what you have been doing with your time.
